Navigating Intellectual Property in the Age of Artificial Intelligence and Global Change.

Introduction:

The discourse and interface on navigating Intellectual Property (IP) in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is both timely and necessary because we are living in an era where machines no longer merely assist us, they create with us, and sometimes, they appear to create for us.

We now live in an ‘era of machines validating humans’ (we are validating if you are human, says the machine) (circle all the pictures where a bicycle appears) are common interfaces to establish we are not robots.

About the Author:

Joseph Jar Kur, born 29th May, 1970. In 2019, he was appointed Professor of Intellectual Property Law in the Department of International Law and Jurisprudence at Moses Orshio Adasu (formerly of Benue State University, Makurdi, Nigeria). Currently, he is on a Sabbatical Appointment with the Faculty of Law, University of The Gambia. Between 2023 and 2025, he was a volunteer staff member at the University of The Gambia, sponsored by the Nigerian Technical Aid Corp Programme (NTAC).

Professor Joe Kur has published over 35 Journal articles and is the author of a book titled, Intellectual Property Law and Entrepreneurship in Nigeria: Principles and Practice. (ISBN 9788512356) (Makurdi: Aboki Publishers, 2015) pp. 1- 223

He’s a 17th Member, WIPO-WTO Colloquium for Teachers of Intellectual Property and a World Bank Certified trainer on Procurement Standards, Environmental and Social Standards.
