LIFIN ESSAY COMPETITION COMMITTEE
Ladies and Gentlemen,
A three- man Committee, chaired by L. M. Ukomadu, Esq., was constituted to review/assess essays submitted by competitors and award grades accordingly.
The Committee, severally, reviewed the essays submitted based on the following modalities:
1. Originality: The essay must present original thought , perspective, or analysis free from plagiarism and Ai-support
2. Structure and Organization ( S/O): The essay must present clear introduction, stating the issue, objectives, and scope. Arguments therein must be logically and sequentially presented. The conclusion thereof must be coherent enough to summarize the findings and offer recommendations.
3. Research and Sources (R/S): Proper use of current, relevant, authoritative and balanced legal sources (case law, statutes, treaties, regulations, textbooks, journal articles) must be made in a manner that demonstrates the breadth and depth of the research.
4. Legal Analysis and Argumentation (LAA): The essay must go beyond mere description to offer critical analysis and evaluation. It must also apply legal principles correctly and demonstrate understanding of underlying doctrines. It should demonstrate the ability to compare and contrast legal systems, precedents, or schools of thought (where necessary). Arguments therein should be persuasive, supported by authority, and logically reasoned.
5. Language, Style, and Clarity (LSC): The language of the essay must be clear, precise, formal and legal with great focus on objectivity and professionalism
6. Referencing and Citation (RC): References and citations must be NALT-compliant.
After the review and assessment of the essays submitted, the Committee is pleased to announce to you as follows:
1. Oladele Kehinde came 1st with 139.3%
2. Ochia Chidinma came 2nd with 128.6%
3. Ojo Moyinoluwa came 3rd with 127.3%
