Introduction
The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) Act, 2010, is the principal legislation governing Nigeria’s space science and technology programme. The Act establishes the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) and provides the legal framework for the promotion, regulation, and coordination of space-related activities in Nigeria. It also empowers the Agency to conduct space research, develop satellite technologies, promote international cooperation, regulate private sector participation, and ensure that space activities contribute to national development. Despite these laudable objectives, the implementation of the NASRDA Act has faced numerous legal, institutional, financial, and technological challenges that have hindered the realization of its full potential.
